Hockey hosts WMU to open regular season

Alaska Anchorage will open the 2022-23 regular season with a pair of games at home against No. 12/14 Western Michigan.   

Welcome Back
Friday's game will be the first NCAA hockey game that UAA has played since March 7th, 2020, a span of 938 days.

College Experience
UAA has 13 players on the roster this season who have previous college experience. Full list on page two. 

Series
The Seawolves and Broncos have met four previous times with the series split 2-2. UAA won the only previous meeting, 5-4, in Anchorage in 1988.

Since 2000, UAA is 12-4-4 in regular season opening games.  

Man in Net
Joey Lamoureaux started in net against Simon Fraser making 14 saves over two periods. Nolan Kent made three saves and allowed one goal in 18:47 of work. 

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage outshot Simon Fraser 28-18, but the Red Leafs scored the lone goal to earn the 1-0 exhibition win. 

Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will hit the road for the first time this season with a two-game series at Colorado College Oct. 7-8.
