Alaska Anchorage will play its first road series of the season this weekend when it plays a two-game series at Lake Superior State.
Series
Alaska Anchorage trails the all-time series with Lake Superior State 8-16-2. The Seawolves and the Lakers skated to a 2-2 tie the last time they met on Jan. 25, 2020. LSSU has dominated the series lately leading 7-2-2.
First Point
Alaska Anchorage had three Seawolves tally their first career points for the Green and Gold last weekend against UMass Lowell.
Riley Thompson scored his first goal in the season opener, and was assisted by
Gunnar VanDamme, who earned his first career point on the goal.
Porter Schachle, who scored six goals in two seasons at Vermont, scored the first goal of the season for the Seawolves.
Point Streak

Matt Allen and freshman
Gunnar VanDamme have both recorded a point in both games this season. Allen tallied an assist in the season opener and scored the lone Seawolf goal in game two against his former team. VanDamme recorded an assist in both games.
Penalty Kill
The UAA penalty kill unit is perfect this season after killing off all eight power plays last weekend.
Overtime Win
Last weekend's overtime win against UMass Lowell was the first overtime win (non-shootout) for Alaska Anchorage since it won 2-1 at Bemidji State on Dec. 15, 2018, a span of 16 overtime games.
Man in the Mask
Jared Whale started in net both games last weekend. The Calgary, Alberta, native has posted a 1.95 goals against average and .938 save percentage this season.
Third Period
The Seawolves have given up five goals this season, all in the third period.
Seawolf Connection
LSSU head coach Damon Whitten served as an assistant coach at UAA from 2006-08.
