LONG ISLAND, NY – Joey Lamoreaux made 37 saves to lead the University of Alaska Anchorage to a 4-0 shutout win at Long Island Saturday.
"That was an all-around team effort," said head coach Matt Shasby. "We were well overdue for a win, and I was very happy with the way we did it. Every guy committed to executing our game plan. Joey Lamoreaux played a perfect hockey game, and we are very happy to see him get rewarded for how hard he works in practice."
The Seawolves jumped out to an early when Caleb Hite scored less than two minutes into the contest thanks to an assist from Max Helgeson.
The second period started just like the first with an early goal set-up by Max Helgeson, but this time it was Jarred White with the goal.
Dylan Finlay extended the UAA lead to 3-0 with his second goal of the season with under five minutes remaining in the second period.
Davis Goukler scored his first goal of the season with 21 seconds remaining to conclude the scoring.
The win is the fifth of the season for UAA, the most wins in a season since the 2016-17 season.
LIU finished with a 37-30 edge in shots. UAA was scoreless on both of its powerplay chances and held LU scoreless on all nine of their man-advantage opportunities.
The Sharks and Seawolves will faceoff Sunday at 3:15 pm.
