PROVIDENCE, RI – Jared Whale made 32 saves for Alaska Anchorage in a 2-0 loss at No. 9 Providence Friday.

After a scoreless first period, Bennett Schimek opened the scoring with a goal through the five-hole at 6:52 of the second period.

The Friar lead grew to 2-0 when Nick Poisson fired a wrist shot high over the stick side of Jared Whale at 9:04 of the second period.

PC outshot UAA 34-15. The Friars finished 1-for-3 on the powerplay, while the Seawolves were 0-for-2.

Alaska Anchorage will close out the weekend series at Providence Saturday.
