MARQUETTE, MICH. – Matt Johnson scored his first goal of the season for Alaska Anchorage in a 2-1 loss at Northern Michigan Friday.
The Wildcats got on the scoreboard first when Ryan Duguay set up Tynan Ewart on a two-on-one at 7:56 of the first period.
Matt Johnson scored his first goal of the season with a one-timer at 2:20 of the second period. Alex Gomez and Jarred White earned assists, for their first points of the season.
Medrick Bolduc scored the game-winning goal with a low-angle shot at 11:38 of the second period.
Tyler Krivtsov made 18 saves on 20 shots in his first career start.
UAA finished with a 32-20 edge in shots and won the faceoff battle 38-29.
Both teams finished 0-for-2 on the powerplay.
UAA and NMU will close out the weekend series Saturday at 2 pm.
