Seawolves win Alaska Cup

FAIRBANKS, ALASKA – The Alaska Anchorage ski team won the Alaska Cup over in-state rival Alaska Fairbanks by 55 seconds Saturday.

Erling Bjoernstad and Derek Deuling finished first and second in the A final of the men's classic sprint. Murphy Kimball placed sixth.

Peter Hinds won the B final with Corbin Carpenter third, Parke Chapin fifth and Matteus Sokulsky sixth.

Constance LaPointe led a trio of UAA women in the A final finishing second. Beth Granstrom placed fourth and Marlie Molinaro fifth.

Marit Flora won the B final with Astrid Stav and Dashe McCabe finishing second and fourth.

Alaska Anchorage will compete at the US National Championships Jan. 2-5 at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
