ANCHORAGE (Nov. 29) – The Alaska Anchorage trio of
Mahaila Harrison,
Elaina Mack and
Kimberly Carrada Sanchez combined for 76 points and the 17th-ranked Seawolves used a third-quarter blitz to pull away Saturday for a 100-58 women's basketball victory over UC Merced at the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Seawolves (7-0) got 28 points, seven rebounds and four steals from Harrison, along with 25 points and a career-high 11 rebounds from Mack, who reached the 25-point mark for the third time this season. Carrada Sanchez finished with career highs of 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting (3-4 3FG), 10 assists, three steals and just one turnover, helping UAA tie for the second-fewest turnovers in program history with five.
The Bobcats (3-3) were led by 23 points and 17 rebounds from starting forward Nicole Lukito, but the California Collegiate Athletic Association club committed 22 turnovers and was outshot .459 to .303.
