ANCHORAGE (Dec. 15) – Junior guard
Elijah Mobley led eight Alaska Anchorage players in double figures with 14 points Monday, helping the hosts to a 113-52 men's basketball victory over West Coast Baptist.
The Seawolves (9-4) also got 12 points apiece from
Sylas Williams and
Lyman Simmons as they scored their most points at home since the Alaska Airlines Center opened in fall 2014.
The Eagles (0-9), a National Christian College Athletic Association program from Lancaster, Calif., were led by 15 points and seven rebounds from starting forward Leny Ranchin.
Simmons shot 3 of 4 from the field and 6 of 6 at the foul stripe as the Utah native matched his career scoring high, while Mobley delivered his career high on 7-of-9 shooting.
Senior guard
Jaren Miller had career bests of 11 points (3-4 FG, 2-2 3FG, 3-4 FT) and six assists, senior forward
Jesse Stines tied his career high with 11 points and set a personal best with five assists, and sophomore guard
Parker Kroon notched a season-high 10 points as UAA outshot the visitors .551 to .353.
Senior guard
Hasaan Herrington had seven assists and no turnovers, helping UAA match the 10th-most assists in program history with 34. The 113 points tied for 25th-most in program history and were the most in the last 10 seasons, while the 61-point margin ranked 16th on UAA's single-game list.
