BOZEMAN, MONT. – Ashleigh Alexander led the University of Alaska Anchorage ski team with a 10th-place finish in the giant slalom at the Montana State Invite Monday.
The women's race was cancelled midway through the second run due to deteriorating course conditions. Alexander finished the first run in 45.17.
Carmen Nielsen finished 18th (46.41), and Olivia Carrier was 21st (46.63).
Jan Ronner recorded the fastest-second run on the day to finished 11th overall in 1:26.88.
Dylan Timm finished 29th (1:28.86), and Will Cashmore was 41st (1:32.62).
Utah won both individual titles with Kaila Lafreniere winning the women's race (43.93) and Johs Herland winning the men's (1:25.85).
UAA is currently fifth in the team standings.
The MSU Invite concludes Tuesday with the slalom races.
World Junior Championships
Constance Lapointe and Murphy Kimball each competed in the classic sprints Monday at the World Junior Championships in Italy.
Lapointe, who is representing Canada, finished 25th, and American Murphy Kimball finished 26th.
Canadian Derek Deuling will compete in the classic sprints at the U23 World Championships Tuesday.
