ANN ARBOR, MICH. – Jalen Bianchet and Cooper Anderson both scored for Alaska Anchorage in a 7-2 loss at No. 2 Michigan Saturday.
The Wolverines recorded goals by Jayden Perron at 7:22 and Drew Schock at 8:44 of the first period before Jalen Bianchet scored his first career goal with a high shot at 9:51. Oren Shtrom and Tye Spencer assisted on the goal.
Cole McKinney scored a power-play goal at 18:45 of the first period to give UM a 3-1 lead.
After two more Michigan goals to start the second period, Cooper Anderson blasted a shot from the blueline for his second goal of the season at 14:02. Jacob Terpstra and Aiden Westin assisted on the goal.
The Wolverines added one more goal in the second and a final goal on the powerplay at 3:16 of the third period.
Joey Rocha finished with 41 saves for UAA.
Michigan was 2-for-4 on the powerplay and Alaska Anchorage was 0-for-2. UM led in shots 48-22.
Alaska Anchorage will host Lake Superior State Oct. 16-17.
