ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Cooper Anderson scored his first career goal for Alaska Anchorage in a 4-1 loss to No. 1 Denver at Sullivan Arena Saturday.
Ryan Lin put the Pioneers on the scoreboard first with a power-play goal with 46 seconds remaining in the first.
Cooper Anderson tied the game at 1-1 at 5:40 thanks to assists from Matthew Martin and Ethan Neutens, who each recorded their first career points.
DU scored three goals in the final frame, first with a power-play goal at 4:02, an even-strength goal at 15:50 and an empty-net goal at 19:46.
Denver finished 2-for-6 on the powerplay, and Alaska Anchorage was 0-for-3.
UAA was outshot 33-16.
Joey Rocha made his first career start for the Seawolves finishing with 29 saves and three goals against.
Alaska Anchorage will make its first road trip of the season when it plays at Michigan Oct. 9-10.
