PARK CITY, UTAH – Ella Bromee finished eighth in the giant slalom to lead the University of Alaska Anchorage at the RMISA Alpine Qualifier Monday.
She finished in a time of 2:10.77.
Carlo Cordone was the top finisher in the men's race placing tied for 20th in 2:09.56.
Ainsley Proffit and Olivia Carrier finished 20th (2:12.21) and 27th (2:15.00).
"Another great day for Ella, her GS is really starting to come together and it couldn't be happening at a better time," said head coach Sparky Anderson. "Carlo is also starting to compete in GS. He wrapped an arm through a panel on second run and lost time, but the tactics and the speed are on a level with the top guys here. Unfortunately we're a very small group - as we're dealing with a string of injuries. Half our team is on the IR. Slalom tomorrow. We're gonna run what we brung."
Sara Rask of Denver won the women's race (2:08.18), and Feb Allasina of Colorado won the men's race (2:06.59).
UAA will compete in the slalom races at the Utah Invite Tuesday.
