ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Luke Johnson scored his second goal of the season for Alaska Anchorage in a 4-1 loss to Alaska Fairbanks in game three of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup Friday.
UAF leads this year's series 7-2.
Tommy Cronin opened the game's scoring with a goal at 6:41 of the first period.
The UAF lead grew to 2-0 when Alexander Malinowski scored at 4:50 of the second period.
JP Steele connected with Luke Johnson on a long stretch pass up the near-side boards before Johnson scored top-shelf at 17:37 of the second period. Nolan Gagnon earned an assist for UAA.
Michael Citara scored the game's only power-play goal at 4:23 of the third period for the Nanooks.
Jhett Larson scored an empty-net goal at 17:44 of the third period to complete the scoring.
UAF out-shot UAA 27-19.
Tyler Krivtsov made 23 saves for UAA.
UAA and UAF will faceoff in game four of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup Saturday at 5 pm. The Seawolves will host a post-game Skate with the Seawolves sponsored by Global Credit Union.
