PORTLAND, Ore. (Feb. 6) – Alaska Anchorage women's basketball senior captain
Elaina Mack added another individual honor Friday, being named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, presented by Barnes & Noble.
A double-major in kinesiology and applied technologies leadership, Mack earned the award for a third straight season, accumulating a 3.43 overall grade-point average. On the court, the King Cove native is the GNAC's fifth-leading scorer with 15.8 points per game, recently surpassing the 1,000-point mark for her career.
A total of 49 student-athletes from the GNAC's 10 institutions made this year's academic team.
To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Team, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA or 3.20 or greater, be a letterwinner on her team, and must be in her second year at the nominating institution.
