ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The University of Alaska Anchorage had eight different players tally a point in a 3-3 tie with Mount Royal in an exhibition game Friday.

Aiden Westin scored in the fourth round of the shootout to give the Seawolves the shootout win.

"I was really happy for the group to get rewarded tonight," said head coach Eric Rud. "They have shown so much dedication all summer long and during the preseason preparing. Tonight we got better and better each period. We are in a good place to build from."

The Cougars jumped out to an early lead when Dax Williams scored on the opening rush ten seconds into the game.

Aiden Westin tied the game at 1-1 when he tipped a shot by Ethan Warrener at 2:41 of the first.

Karter McNarland scored a power-play goal less than four minutes later to give the Seawolves their first lead of the game, but Caden Kemkaran-Humble tied the game at 2-2 at 14:16 of the first.

Tye Spencer fired a rocket of a shot from the slot for the lone goal of the second period to give UAA its second lead of the game. Drew Hockley tallied his second assist of the game, after picking up his first on the goal by Karter McNarland.

Caden Kemkaran-Humble tied the game at 3-3 with a goal for Mount Royal at 2:09 of the third period.

The Seawolves held the Cougars 0-for-4 on the powerplay and finished 1-for-2 on the man-advantage.

Mount Royal out-shot Alaska Anchorage 33-23, due to a 20-9 edge in the first period.

William Gramme finished with 30 saves for the Seawolves.

Alaska Anchorage will host the University of Mary Saturday at 7 pm. Admission is free.
