Alaska Anchorage will host defending national champion and top-ranked Denver this weekend (Oct. 2-3) at Sullivan Arena.  

Series
Alaska Anchorage trails the all-time series with Denver 17-51-7 that first began in 1993. The Seawolves are 8-23-5 all-time against the Pioneers in Anchorage. The two teams split their series last season with UAA winning game one 4-3 and the Pioneers winning the second 6-0. 

Coach Rud
Head coach Eric Rud enters his first season leading the Seawolves. He previously served as an assistant coach at St. Cloud, Miami and Colorado College. Rud served as the head coach of the women's at St. Cloud for five seasons (2014-19). 

Captain
Senior Karter McNarland will serve as team captain this season. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native leads the team in both career points (35) and career assists (26) and ranks second in career games played (73). 

Spread It Around
UAA has 15 different players record at least one point in last week's exhibition games. Junior defenseman Ethan Warrener top the list with one goal and three assists. The Seawolves had eight other players record multiple points on the weekend.  

Goalies
All three goalies saw time in net in last week's exhibition games. Senior William Gramme made 30 saves and gave up three goals in the tie with Mount Royal. Joey Rocha made eight saves in the first 30 minutes of action against the University of Mary, and Bryant Marks made 11 saves and allowed one goal in 30 minutes of relief. 

Special Teams
UAA's penalty kill was a perfect 10-for-10 last weekend against Mount Royal and the University of Mary and the power-play unit was 3-for-7. 

Freshmen
The Seawolves have 11 players on this years squad, second most in the nation. 

Transfers
Alaska Anchorage has three transfers on this years squad with college experience, goalie William Gramme (Northern Michigan), defenseman Drew Hockley (Quinnipiac) and forward Charles Tardiff (Sacred Heart). 

Where are they from?
This year's roster features players from three different countries, six Canadian Provinces and seven states. 

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage hosted a pair of exhibition games last week skating to a 3-3 tie with Mount Royal and a 7-1 win over the University of Mary. 

Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will make its first road trip of the season when it travels to the Mitten State to face No. 2 Michigan.
