Biography

2006: Finished career as UAA’s all-time leader in digs per game at 4.58 … led Seawolves and ranked No. 7 in GNAC with 3.90 dpg … only Seawolf to see action in all of season’s 89 games … tallied double-digit digs in 21 of 25 matches, including three times with 20-plus digs … had season-high 29 digs in 5-game loss to Seattle and 24 digs in 4-game victory over UAF … earned second straight selection to GNAC All-Academic Team with 3.31 overall GPA.

2005: Returned from springtime ACL injury to play in season’s final five matches, posting a solid 4.00 digs per game … had 20 digs in first match back, at Western Oregon (Oct. 27) … earned a spot on GNAC All-Academic Team.

2004: Averaged 5.28 digs per game to break Seawolf Hall-of-Famer Jen Szczerbinski’s 1989 record of 4.73 … one of three Seawolves to play every game of every match, putting up double-digit digs in 24 of 26 contests, and 20 or more digs on 16 occasions … twice registered 30-dig efforts, with 30 in a win over Harding (Sept. 3) and 31 in a loss at UAF (Oct. 9) … her 528 total digs ranked sixth on UAA’s single-season list, and her 5.28 dpg ranked seventh in the GNAC … voted team's co-Best Defensive Player by her teammates.

2003: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time all-conference setter at Service High, helping Cougars to back-to-back Region IV titles in 2000 and 2001 and Class 4A state title in 2000 … all-state performer as a senior in 2001 … also played for Cougars’ state champion softball team in 2001, and earned all-state honors in softball as a senior.

PERSONAL: Attended Weber State University in Utah in 2002-03, but did not play volleyball … played for Midnight Sun Volleyball Club from 1996-2002 … born Rachael Ann Knecht on May 15, 1984 in Anchorage … parents are Daniel and Judy Knecht … mother played volleyball at Arizona State … management major.
