Biography

2022-23 (Sr.): Started 21 of 27 contests, averaging 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game … ranked 2nd in Great Northwest Athletic Conference with .463 3FG% (38-62) and was 5th in FG% (tops among guards) at .558 … held other GNAC ranks of 10th in steals and 11th in A/T ratio (1.8) … score double figures nine times, including four of last five outings … tallied season-high 16 points in narrow losses to Seattle Pacific (5-5 FG, 5-5 FT, 4 assists, 0 turnovers) and Alaska Fairbanks (5-8 FG, 4-6 3FG) … made at least one three-pointer in all but three games … helped UAA to title of UAF/Mt. McKinley Bank Classic with combined 15 points (4-4 FG, 3-3 3FG, 4-5 FT), 2 assists, 0 turnovers and 5 steals in wins over Texas A&M International and Westminster … other top outings included 10 points (2-3 FG, 5-5 FT), 7 rebounds and 4 assists in home win over Simon Fraser; 8 points, 4 assists, 0 turnovers and career highs of 8 rebounds and 5 steals in road win over SFU; and 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3FG) to bolster road upset of MSU Billings in career finale … repeated on GNAC All-Academic Team with 3.48 overall GPA.

2021-22 (Jr.): Provided lift off the bench in 20 contests, averaging 6.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game for Seawolf team that went 15-9 and placed third in Great Northwest Athletic Conference … shot .364 from long range and .792 at free-throw stripe … improved numbers to 7.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.2 apg, .404 3FG and .818 FT in 15 GNAC games … scored season-high 19 points (6-8 3FG), along with 4 rebounds, 3 assists and no turnovers in home victory over Alaska Fairbanks … other top efforts included 12 points (3-6 3FG), 3 assists and no turnovers in OT loss at Central Washington; 9 points (4-7 FG) in home win over Western Washington; 9 points (3-6 FG) and 3 steals in home win over GNAC regular-season champ Saint Martin’s; and 8 points in home wins over Simon Fraser and MSU Billings … made GNAC All-Academic Team with Seawolves’ second-highest overall GPA at 3.70.

2020-21: Team did not compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

BEFORE UAA: Started all 61 games of JC career at Santiago Canyon (Calif.) Junior College … earned First Team All-Orange Empire Conference honors as sophomore in 2019-20, averaging 13.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game … shot .412 from three-point range and .864 at the free-throw stripe for Hawks club that finished 28-2 and reached CCCAA Elite 8 prior to the cancelation of playoffs … scored double figures 22 times in final JC campaign, including career-high 24 points (7-9 FG) in 86-78 road victory over Chaffey … took injury redshirt season in 2018-19 … as freshman in 2017-18, averaged 10.6 points on .387 long-range shooting … helped SCJC go 22-9 overall and tie for third in Orange Empire standings in program’s inaugural season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-time all-conference performer … made five all-tournament teams throughout varsity career … played AAU for Team Eastbay.

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 6, 1995 in Newport Beach, Calif. … son of Mike and Kim Garrity … has three siblings, Jordan, Caden and older brother Dylan, who played four years at Sacramento State and professionally in Portugal … favorite activities include hiking, golfing, biking, swimming, wakeboarding, surfing, snowboarding, ice skating, photography, video editing and investing/trading.

MAJOR: Double majoring in health sciences and psychology

WHY I CHOSE UAA: Simply put, I don’t chase love, money, fame, or attention. I chase experiences, and there is no better experience than moving to a completely new place to indulge yourself in everything it has to offer.
