Biography

2001-02: Completed his five-year Seawolf career No. 8 on UAA’s all-time games played list with 99...waited until his final game, March 2 at Seattle University, to post a season-high 18 points...finished No. 19 on UAA’s career three-point percentage list at .328, thanks to a 3-for-4 performance in that last game.

2000-01: Took on reserve role after missing the first month of the season due to a groin injury...scored 13 points in wins over Southwestern (Dec. 30) and Chaminade (Jan. 15).

1999-00: Established himself solidly as the team's top reserve by midseason, finishing as the fourth-leading scorer (8.8 ppg) and rebounder (2.9 rpg)...impressive 52.3 FG percentage ranked third on the team...exploded for a career-high 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting, including 4-for-4 on threes, in a 104-54 win over Lincoln...averaged 11.0 ppg when he was inserted into the starting lineup for four games during UAA's long road trip in January...played his best ball in the final eight games, hitting double-figure scoring four times and averaging 2.6 assists per game...had a career-high five assists and grabbed an offensive rebound that led to the game-clinching bucket in a thrilling 105-99 home win over MSU-Billings.

1998-99: One of the most pleasant surprises on the team, began the year as a role player but wound up starting 13 of UAA's 27 games, averaging 6.5 points per contest...led the Seawolves to a win over Texas College with a then-career-high 18 points...led the team in rebounding in two games.

1997-98: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Port Angeles High, where he lettered three times in basketball and once in baseball...helped hoops team to a three-year record of 67-11...member of three-time Olympic League championship-winning teams which posted a 36-2 conference mark from 1995-97...led 1997 squad to a 24-3 record, the OL title with a 14-0 ledger, a district crown and a seventh-place finish in the Class AAA state tournament as a senior year...served as captain...capped PAHS career as the conference MVP and named first-team all-state by The Seattle Times, Tacoma News-Tribune and The Associated Press...appeared in the Washington State Coaches Association All-Star Game...shot 54 percent (188-347) from the field, 43 percent (18-42) from the three-point arc and 78 percent (152-194) from the free throw line while averaging 21 points as a junior...also hauled in nine rebounds per game...No. 3 on his school's all-time scoring list with 1,129 points (15.9 ppg)...averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds as a junior en route to first-team OL honors...1995 honorable mention OL pick...baseball team won 1997 district title.

PERSONAL: Born Jonathan Matthew Madison on Oct. 20, 1978 in Port Angeles, Wash....brother James was a four-year starter at Cleveland State from 1996-2000...son of Guy and Michelle Madison...major is justice.
