Biography

2022-23 (So.): Played in 25 of 27 games, stepping into starting lineup for final 15 appearances … averaged 9.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game, with shooting numbers of .462 FG, .333 3FG and .759 FT … scored double figures 11 times and dished at least one assist in all but one game … powered home win over Central Washington with season highs of 21 points (6-13 FG, 3-5 3FG, 6-8 FT) and 6 assists … other top performances included 16 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3FG) in OT road loss to Hawaii-Hilo; 12 points (6-8 FG) and 5 rebounds in road win over CWU; and 15 points (6-14 FG, 3-3 FT), 4 rebounds and 2 assists in road win over Western Washington.

BEFORE UAA: Played two seasons at NCAA Div. II West Region rival Hawaii Pacific, averaging 7.3 points and 1.7 assists in 36 career games … named to All-Pac West Conference Team in Covid-shortened 2020-21 campaign after posting 12.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, while shooting .456 from the field and .733 on free throws … posted season-high 23 points (10-16 FG) vs Hawaii Hilo and had 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals vs Chaminade ... averaged 5.6 points and 1.3 assists in reserve role as freshman in 2019-20 … tallied seven double-figure scoring games as rookie, including 20 points (7-9 FG) and 4 steals against Alaska Fairbanks.

HIGH SCHOOL: Led Mazenod College to league titles in 2017 and 2018, earning Sportsman of the Year and All-Star 5 awards … also excelled in track & field, setting school records in hurdles events … played for Dandenong Rangers club team.

PERSONAL: Born Mar. 10, 2000  … son of Trudy and Michael Viney ... has two older sisters, Leah and Mikala … hobbies and interests include going to the beach, hanging out with friends, going on hikes and watching Netflix.

WHY I CHOSE UAA: Past teammates recommended it, the facilities were too good to resist, and the coaching staff was extremely accepting and had a good vibe, so I knew I’d enjoy it.
