Volunteer coach Scott Johnson begins his fifth season at UAA in 2012-13 with a focus on the Seawolf goalies.
The Bloomington, Minn., native is a former goaltending coach for Wasilla’s Alaska Avalanche (NAHL), where he tutored former Seawolf Dusan Sidor. Johnson is also a former Northwest Regional Manager for Goaltender Development Institute and is now President of Pacific Northwest Goaltending where he oversees the entire goaltender training operation and instructs individual, team, association, clinic and camp curriculums. He is also the USA Hockey Alaska Region goaltender coaching chief.
The 1977 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School attended Minnesota Duluth but did not play due to major knee surgery. Johnson, who lives with his wife Julie, was a NHL Off-Ice Official for the Minnesota North Stars from 1981-93 and is still involved with NHL Diversity programs nationwide.
