Danielle Patterson joined the UAA athletic department as a volunteer assistant coach in 2021, working primarily with the cross country team and distance runners.
Patterson coached Cole Nash to a breakout season in 2021-22. Nash earned All-American honors in cross country and the 10,000. He would sweep the 5,000 and 10,000 titles at the GNAC Championships after placing second in cross country and second in the 3,000 and 5,000 indoors.
Patterson joins Alaska Anchorage after serving as a volunteer cross country coach at Eastern Connecticut State University in the fall of 2021.
Patterson has worked as a teaching assistant, a substitute teacher and a youth cross country coach.
She competed in cross country and track & field at Berry College in Georgia, earning multiple all-conference honors. Patterson earned a degree in anthropology and sociology from Berry in 2017 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in coaching from Adams State.
