2009: Completed an outstanding career with UAA with his fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships – only UAA track and field athlete to participate in four NCAAs ... earned his second All-American award after placing 8th in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:12.23, helping the Seawolves to a program-best 14th place with 19 points ... broke his own UAA record in the steeple with a time of 9:01.67 at the Stanford Invite on March 27—the time gave the Kenyan the automatic qualifying time for the NCAAs ... recorded career-best in the 1,500m with a time of 3:53.41 at the Northridge Relays ... posted some of UAA’s best times this season in the 1,500m (5th) and in the 5,000m (2nd), reaching the provisional time for Nationals (14:44.02) at the Willamette Invite ... led the GNAC in the steeplechase as the only member to qualify for Nationals ... his time was the 3rd-fastest in GNAC history ... earned GNAC Athlete of the Week honors for his performances during the week of March 23-29 ... picked up his third consecutive GNAC All-Academic Team honors.
