Former Seawolf basketball star Alysa Horn joins the UAA strenghth & conditioning staff in 2018-19 for her first season as an assistant coach.
An all-conference performer on the basketball court, Horn played in 109 games from 2009-13, helping the Seawolves to three straight NCAA Tournaments and a berth the 2012 national quarterfinals. After professional stints in Germany and Australia, the Kodiak native spent two seasons as an assistant women’s basketball coach at UAA from 2015-17, helping the team to a combined 68-5 record and a spot in the 2016 national title game. In 2016, she was also named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s prestigious Thirty-Under-30 list.
Self-employed as a personal and performance trainer for the past two years, Horn is the owner of Make Yourself, LLC. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health, physical education & recreation from UAA in 2013, with a minor in athletic training and nutrition. Horn is also an NSCA-certified strength & conditioning specialist with an ACE Personal Trainer certificate.
