Biography

2005: Team co-captain ... competed six times on vault, scoring career-best 9.325 in season-opener at Maui ... scored 9.525 or better on all four floor routines, including 9.675s in wins over Winona State (Jan. 22) and Texas Woman's (Feb. 11) ... also made lineup twice on beam.

2004: Redshirted after preseason shoulder surgery.

2003: Extremely consistent on both of her specialties, qualifying for the USA Gymnastics Championships on beam and floor ... best showing at USAGs was a 9.375 on beam, tying for 31st place ... on beam, posted a pair of career-high 9.65s (Jan. 17 and Mar. 22) and a 9.625 (Jan. 18), while failing only once to record a 9.05 or higher ... on floor, scored 9.5 or higher in five of 12 meets, including a career-best 9.7 at MPSF Championships on Mar. 29 ... was among eight Seawolves to earn MPSF All-Academic honors.

2002: Competed in six meets ... posted career-high 9.65 on floor in UAA's school-record performance against UC Davis on Feb. 8 ... team co-captain.

2001: Performed on bars, beam and floor in every regular-season meet and saw all-around action in the final two meets ... posted career-highs of 9.6 on beam Jan. 26 at UCSB and 9.5 on floor Feb. 17 at Massachusetts.

BEFORE UAA: Finished third in the all-around, second on beam, fourth on floor and fifth on bars at the 2000 YMCA National Championships ... a Level 10 Junior Olympic national competitor in 1999 and 2000 ... Level 10 Washington state floor champion in 2000 ... won Level 9 all-around and floor Region 2 titles in 1998 ... also lettered in diving at Peninsula High School.

PERSONAL: Born Amy L. Jones on March 24, 1982 in Tacoma, Wash. ... daughter of Craig and Janiece Jones ... father ran track at Central Washington ... didn't start gymnastics until age 11 ... enjoys singing, dancing and skiing ... political science major.
