Biography

2001: Established career-highs on every event, including 9.15 on vault Feb. 14 at Bridgeport, and 9.1 on bars at the Sacramento Invitational, March 17...competed in the all-around at the Western Independent Championships March 24, where she set personal-bests of 8.975 on beam and 9.05 on floor...saw action in every regular-season meet.

2000: Saw action in the all-around seven times, posting her best score March 10 against Winona State with a 34.900...scored 8.950’s on beam and floor March 10.

1999: Competed in three meets before stress fractures haunted her again...named an Academic All-American by USWGA.

1998: Redshirted due to stress fractures in her shins.

BEFORE UAA: Four-year gymnastics and one-year track and field letterwinner at Mead High School...named gymnastics MVP after her senior campaign...team captain...received District Achievement Awards and Greater Spokane League Awards all four years of high school...three-time Washington state meet qualifier...member of the Greater Spokane League All-League team in 1995-96...two-year nominee in Who’s Who in Sports...member of the National Honor Society...graduated high school with honors.

PERSONAL: Born Heather Alyn Salo on Sept. 8, 1979 in Chattaroy, Wash….enjoys surfing and drawing...daughter of Evelyn Wilhelmson and David Salo...major is natural sciences.
