Sam Harrison joins the Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball staff in 2026-27 as an assistant coach.
The Minnesota native comes north after his most recent stop at Eastern Arizona College, where he worked under current UAA bench boss Cameron Turner.
Harrison brings NCAA Div. II experience as well, having served as an assistant coach at Rockhurst University, where he helped lead the Hawks through the highly competitive Great Lakes Valley Conference, and Texas A&M-International. He has also coached at Central Wyoming College, Kansas Wesleyan University, and Graceland University, where he was part of that program’s 2018 NAIA Division I national championship staff.
Before beginning his coaching career, Harrison was a standout player at Rock Valley (Ill.) College, contributing to two NJCAA national championship teams.
Originally from Prior Lake, Minn., Harrison earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Graceland in 2018 and his MBA from Kansas Wesleyan in 2020.
