Men's Basketball UAA Media Relations

Seawolves crush Grizzlies, 88-50

ANCHORAGE (Dec. 22) - Forward Greg Freeman scored 14 points to lead four Seawolves in double figures as the UAA men's basketball team blew out Adams State for the second straight night at the Sports Center, 88-50.


With the win, UAA improves to 5-2 overall and 4-0 against Division II competition. The Grizzlies, of Alamosa, Colo., fall to 5-6 with the loss.


UAA center Serge Using grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and blocked three shots as the Seawolves held the Grizzlies to 33.9 percent shooting and outrebounded them 48-34. Scott Larrabee, starting in place of injured point guard Ed Kirk, finished with 12 points and six assists in 34 minutes of action.


The Seawolves travel south to face Division I powerhouse Kentucky on Monday, Dec. 27 at 3 p.m. AST in Rupp Arena. From Lexington, UAA travels to Marietta, Ga., to face the Carver Bible College Cougars Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. AST.
