ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Jan. 22) - Tiffany Massey posted her second consecutive double-double, but it wasn't enough to overcome serious foul difficulty as the UAA women's basketball team dropped a 74-63 decision here Saturday night. Massey had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Seawolves (13-4, 9-2 Pac West), while Jaime Johnston and Kristen Willis scored 21 apiece for the Wildcats (12-4, 6-2 Pac West).
The Seawolves, who also got 12 points apiece from Catherine Hale, Tirzah Church and Dana Bottoms, were plagued by fouls, with Hale, Julie Chambers and Stephanie Smith fouling out. UAA shot only 12 free throws (with seven makes), but the Wildcats got to the line 37 times, converting 30.
UAA outshot the Wildcats from the field, 48 percent (27-of-56) to 36 percent (17-of-47), but committed 29 turnovers. It was UAA's first road loss of the season in five games.
The Seawolves return to the Sports Center Thursday for a 7:05 p.m. exhibition against Simon Fraser, and follow that with another 7:05 p.m. date, Saturday against Seattle University.
