BURNABY, B.C. (Jan. 27) - Forward Greg Freeman scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the UAA men's basketball team to a 82-74 comeback victory over Simon Fraser in a non-conference game here Thursday night. Chris Hamey scored 17 points and Jon Madison came off the bench to contribute 15 for the Seawolves (10-7). Center Richard Anderson had game-highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds for the Clan (4-17).
It was the third consecutive double-double for Freeman, a junior from Helena, Mont., as he shot 10-for-14 from the field, 3-for-4 from the free throw line and snagged two steals. Hamey had six assists to go along with five rebounds and two steals.
The Seawolves trailed 36-27 at halftime but came out strong in the second half. After cutting the deficit to 50-45, the Seawolves went on a 13-0 run to go up 58-50. SFU, an NAIA school, got as close as four points twice but couldn't complete a comeback of its own.
