BILLINGS, Mont. (Jan. 6) - Chris Hamey scored a season-high 24 points, but it wasn't enough as the UAA men's basketball team fell 113-104 to Montana State-Billings at Alterowitz Gymnasium tonight. The Seawolves fall to 6-4 with the loss in the Pacific West Conference opener for both teams.
Alaska native Nate Strong led the Yellowjackets (9-3) with 37 points on 13-of-20 shooting.
UAA's Greg Freeman tallied a career-high 21 points, while Jon Madison (16), Scott Larrabee (12), Chris Lewis (10) and Serge Using (10) scored in double figures for UAA. Using grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to register his second double-double of the season before fouling out.
The Seawolves now travel to Silver City, N.M., to take on Western New Mexico on Saturday and Monday. Saturday's game counts in the Pac West standings, while Monday's contest is a non-conference affair.
