ANCHORAGE (Feb. 17) - UAA center Serge Using scored a career-high 27 points, including the game-winning basket with 1:32 left in the game, as the Seawolf men knocked off Montana State-Billings 105-99 at the Sports Center Thursday night. UAA (14-9, 3-6 Pac West) also got 19 points and 6 assists from forward Greg Freeman, while the Yellowjackets were led by Markus Hallgrimson's 27 points on eight three-pointers.

After MSU-Billings took a 99-98 lead on Hallgrimson's final three-pointer with 1:48 remaining, Jon Madison fed Using in the low post and he connected on a hook shot to put UAA up 100-99. After a defensive stop, Scott Larrabee missed a three-pointer with 40 seconds left, but Madison grabbed the rebound and called timeout. Larrabee then nailed a three from the wing with 10.6 seconds remaining to seal the victory.

UAA, which also got 14 points apiece from Drew Gunkel and Larrabee, trailed by as many as nine points at 77-68 with 10:35 left. But Seawolves went on a 22-6 run to go up 90-83 with 5:05 to go. Neither team led by double digits at any point.

Taylor Wagner had a career-high 8 assists as UAA dished out 32 total, while turning the ball over only 12 times. Chris Hamey had a solid effort with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Hamey's final steal came after Larrabee's clinching three, and the senior from Juneau nailed two free throws for the final margin.

UAA takes on Western New Mexico at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at the Sports Center.
