ARCATA, Calif. (Feb. 19) - Senior guard Tirzah Church scored a game-high 19 points to lead the UAA women's basketball team to a 62-50 victory over Humboldt State at the HSU East Gym Saturday night. Julie Chambers added 10 points for the Seawolves (18-6, 13-4 Pac West), while Kristen Swain led the Lumberjacks (5-17, 1-13 PWC) with 17 points and eight rebounds.
UAA's Tiffany Massey had one of her poorer shooting days, going only 2-for-10 from the field, however she contributed 11 rebounds, six steals and three assists. Dana Bottoms led the UAA effort on the boards with 12, while fellow center Kellie Torrey dished out six assists. Church made 4 of 7 three-pointers and 7 of 15 shots overall.
It was UAA's seventh road victory of the season, equaling the Seawolves' most wins in hostile territory since 1991-92.
UAA continues its road trip next Thursday at Simon Fraser in Burnaby, B.C., before finishing up at Seattle University on Saturday, Feb. 26.
