Mutter's All-America effort paces skiers

PARK CITY, Utah (March 10) -- University of Alaska Anchorage junior Edda Mutter earned All-America honors with her ninth place finish in Friday's women's slalom competition at the NCAA Ski Championships. The Seawolves are 10th in the team's standings after the third day of competition with 225 points. Denver took over the team lead with 540 points.

Mutter, who earned her third All-America honors, posted a two-run time of 1:44.94. DU's Cecilie Hagen Larsen won the event in the time of 1:41.96. The Seawolves' Aurore deMaulmont was 16th in the race in the time of 1:46.82.

In Friday's men's slalom competition, UAA's Fredrik Esping posted a 19th place finish in the time of 1:48.29. The men's race was won by the University of Colorado's Andy Leroy in 1:39.12.

The Championships will conclude on Saturday with the women's 15-kilometer Nordic classic race and the men's 20-kilometer Nordic classic race.
