ANCHORAGE (Nov. 16) - The UAA volleyball team ended its season Saturday with a resounding 30-17, 30-17, 30-28 win over Northwest Nazarene at the Sports Center as senior Brianne McCabe slammed a match-high 15 kills.
Setter Kasey Kuelper had 41 kills and a career-high 21 digs for the Seawolves (15-11, 11-7 GNAC), who clinched fourth place in the final Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings. Lindsay Miller led NNU (12-14, 8-10) with just seven kills as UAA held the Crusaders to a .075 hitting percentage.
Carolyn DeKay had 12 kills for the Seawolves and Starr Burgan added 10, including match point.
Kuelper wrapped up her standout season by officially sealing the school record for assist per game in a season with a final average of 11.94 (old record: Janelle Morrisette, 11.55, 1999).
McCabe, a 2001 first team all-conference selection, finished with 1,028 kills, No. 3 on the school's career list. Her .292 season hitting percentage ranks fifth all-time at UAA.
The Seawolves will announce their team awards at their annual banquet Dec. 12.
