ANCHORAGE (Mar. 11) - Jessica Portlock, Sara Randall and Dominique Ingram all claimed individual event titles Friday as the UAA gymnastics team rolled to a 190.175-185.525 victory over Hamline at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
Portlock, a hometown freshman, posted a 9.8 on bars for a team season-best mark and the fifth-best score in school history. Ingram dominated on vault (9.675) and floor (9.8), while Randall earned a 9.6 to tie with Hamline's Caitlin Goodin on beam.
Ingram took the all-around title with a 38.325 despite falling on beam. Randall went for a 37.150, while Goodin (35.750) was the only all-arounder for the Pipers, a Division III team from St. Paul, Minn.
Portlock also threw a 9.625 on floor and a 9.525 on vault. She would have scored a winning 38.500 all-around had her 9.55 beam routine not been an exhibition.
Other solid routines for the Seawolves on Friday included Mandy Kolosovsky on floor (9.6) and vault (9.5), Tiffany Staton on bars (9.5), and Lauren Magiera on beam (9.575).
UAA improved its dual record to 8-6 with the victory and can match the school record for wins when it meets HU in a 7:05 p.m. Saturday rematch.
