FAIRBANKS – Kim Stolk's 12 kills and Chelsey Jones' five blocks weren't enough Saturday as the Alaska Anchorage volleyball team lost a 30-24, 30-13, 28-30, 30-24 decision to rival Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday at the Patty Center.
UAA (5-20, 2-14) got eight kills apiece from Jones, Tehane Kahalehau and Brenda Cooper as they dropped their seventh straight to end the season. UAF (7-16, 6-10) was led by 15 kills from Megan Thigpen and 11 kills from Jenna Jones.
Kahalehau, UAA's freshman setter, had a good all-around night with 38 assists, four aces and 11 digs, while senior libero Rachael Knecht had a team-high 12 digs in her final performance.
The loss snapped a four-match winning streak for the Seawolves against the Nanooks. UAA still leads the all-time series 53-29.
