LACEY, Wash. -- The Seawolf volleyball team continued its rocky road through the Great Northwest Athletic Conference on Thursday as host Saint Martin's claimed a 30-25, 30-20, 30-24 victory over the Seawolves at SMU Pavilion.
Sophomore Heather Lyons led UAA (3-9, 0-4 GNAC) with 10 kills and Caitlin Grenier added nine kills and four blocks, but it wasn't enough against the Saints (1-7, 1-3), who snapped a 10-match GNAC losing streak that dated to last season.
SMU was led by 16 kills and 10 digs from freshman Shealun Campisi.
UAA, which has now lost five straight overall, was outhit .303 to .106 by its host, and lost the digs battle 42-35. The Seawolves did manage nine blocks to SMU's four, but hurt themselves with 12 service errors. UAA entered the match leading the GNAC in aces, but managed just three on the night.
Senior libero Rachael Knecht led UAA with 11 digs.
