Streaking Crusaders swamp Seawolves

NAMPA, Idaho ? Senior outside hitter Rhea Cardwell tallied a match-high 15 kills, but the Alaska Anchorage volleyball team ran into a red-hot Northwest Nazarene club Saturday night as the host Crusaders prevailed 25-18, 27-25, 25-20 at the Johnson Sports Center.

UAA (12-12, 4-7 GNAC) also got a match-high 17 digs from junior libero Stacie Meisner as it lost for the fifth time in six outings.

NNU (13-7, 7-4) won its fifth straight, meanwhile, getting 11 kills from reigning league player-of-the-week Cammy Dranganis and 26 assists, five kills and five digs from setter Aki Punimata.

Senior outside hitter Joanna Johnson managed five kills and 12 digs for the Seawolves, who were out-hit .181 to .107 and outblocked 11-5 by the home team.

UAA returns home next week for home matches against Saint Martin's (Thu., Oct. 30, 7 p.m.) and league-leading Western Oregon (Sat., Nov. 1, 7 p.m.).
