SEATTLE, Wash. – The Alaska Anchorage men's and women's indoor track & field team's participation at the University of Washington's Invitational Friday was highlighted by junior Cody Thomas setting two Seawolf records.
A local of Blenheim, New Zealand, Thomas set a new UAA indoor record in the 60 meters with a time of 7.01, dropping .03 of a second off his own school record – which was set in February of 2014. Additionally, Thomas broke his own high jump record (6-3.25) with a provisional NCAA qualifying leap of 6-8.25 – finishing runner-up in both heptathlon events.
Additionally, Amy Johnston (17:24.12) and Dylan Anthony (14:38.68) both posted provisional NCAA qualifying times in the 5,000 meters, while the women's distance medley team also furnished a PNQ time of 11:53.85
