SEATTLE, Wash. – The Alaska Anchorage men's and women's indoor track & field teams wrapped up the Husky Classic Saturday with two more provisional NCAA qualifying times in Jessica Pahkala and Joe Day.
In addition to furnishing a provisional NCAA qualifying (PNQ) time in the 800 meters, Day also set a school record with a time of one minute, 52.66 seconds. Day bested his previous record of 1:52.87, set Feb. 10, 2013. Day needs a time of 1:49.24 for automatic qualification to the NCAAs.
Collecting her second PNQ time of the season was Pahkala in the 800 meters. Pahkala cruised to a time of 2:14.14, bypassing the needed time of 2:15.44. Pahkala already holds a PNQ time in the women's distance medley relay, which will likely qualify for the national meet.
Meanwhile, Haleigh Lloyd (58.18) and Adam Commandeur (49.28) each posted respectable times in the women's and men's 400 meters, respectively.
Combined with Friday's performances, the Seawolves amassed six provisional NCAA qualifying times in Seattle on the University of Washington campus.
The Seawolves will be in action again tomorrow at the Husky Open.
