SALEM, Oregon – The Alaska Anchorage men's and women's outdoor track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Oregon State High Performance meet Friday with seven top-five finishes. Combined, the Seawolves amassed three career highs and six season bests on the Charles Bowles Track.
Picking up a career best in the 400 meters was sophomore Adam Commandeur (Comox, B.C.) with a time of 48.28 seconds, good for third place. Meanwhile, in the women's 400-meter race sophomore Mary-Kathleen Cross (Cobble Hill, B.C.) set a personal best at 57.43, finishing fifth, while classmate Hayley Bezanson (Courtenay, B.C.) took 12th with a season-best time of 59.35.
In the throwing events, senior Timothy Dommek (Bartlett HS) set his career high in the discus with a toss of 152-1.75, taking seventh place, as newcomer Grant George (Grace Christian HS) posted a season-high throw of 150-11.75.
Additionally, junior All-American Cody Parker (Comox, B.C.) improved upon his season best in the javelin with a toss of 213-9.5.
The Seawolves are back in action tomorrow at the Mt. Hood Track Festival.
