MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Alaska Anchorage Seawolves dropped a 3-2 game against their host Northern Michigan Wildcats in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Berry Events Center Friday.
The Seawolves (10-14-3, 7-12-2 WCHA) took a 1-0 lead in the second after a scoreless 20 minutes of play thanks to sophomore Jarrett Brown. The Wildcats (11-10-6, 8-7-4 WCHA) then retaliated with two of their own for a 2-1 advantage heading into the second intermission. Sophomore Tad Kozun netted the equalizer in the final frame, but a NMU power-play snipe gave the Wildcats the win.

The Seawolf lead held until the Wildcats netted back-to-back goals, halfway through the game. Justin Rose picked up his first tally of the season at 9:24, before Brock Maschmeyer gave the Wildcats their first lead at 13:16 with a power-play strike.
Kozun made things interesting in the third period, picking up his team-leading 12th of the season at 5:23 of the third. The goal was unassisted and gave Kozun a three-game point streak heading into tomorrow's rematch at 3:07 p.m. AST.
