Box Score ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Alaska Anchorage had nine players record a point but Omaha scored twice on the power play to defeat the Seawolves 4-3 Thursday.
Brayden Camrud gave the Green and Gold an early lead thanks to his second goal of the season at 1:55 of the first period.
The Mavericks took a 2-1 lead after scoring twice in the first five minutes of the second period. Taylor Ward scored a power-play goal at 1:07, and Tristan Keck followed up with an even-strength goal at 4:54.
Marcus Mitchell tied the game at 2-2 with his first career goal at 12:46 thanks to assists from
Tanner Schachle and
Troy Robillard.
Brandon Scanlin scored Omaha's second power-play goal of the night with a wrist shot at 10:12 of the third period, but
Rylee St. Onge answered with a wrist shot of his own for UAA's lone power-play goal at 15:11.
Nick Wicks and
Tomi Hiekkavirta, who combined for six points in UAA's last game, assisted on the goal.
Joey Abate scored the game-winner at 16:04 when he scored on a rebound off a shot by Kirby Proctor.
The Seawolves played nearly the final two minutes with the extra attacker but could not score the equalizer.
UNO finished 2-for-7 on the powerplay, and UAA was 1-for-4.
Kristian Stead made 26 saves for UAA, while Isaiah Saville stopped 19 shots for UNO.
Omaha led 30-22 in shots.
The two teams will close out the series Friday.
