MANKATO, MINN. – No. 1 Minnesota State scored twice on the powerplay in a 3-0 win over Alaska Anchorage Saturday.
The Seawolves held the Mavericks scoreless for nearly 40 minutes until Marc Michaelis scored on the man-advantage at 19:19.
Connor Mackey scored the second goal for Minnesota State at 3:38 of the first period.
Jared Spooner completed the scoring with a power-play goal with 19 seconds remaining.
MSU finished 2-for-4 on the powerplay, and held UAA scoreless on both of it's power-play chances.
The Mavericks out-shot the Seawolves 41-20.
Kris Carlson made 38 saves for the Green and Gold.
Alaska Anchorage will host Ferris State November 29-30.
