HOUGHTON, MICH. – Kris Carlson made 40 saves and Nick Wicks scored short-handed for Alaska Anchorage in a 2-1 loss at Michigan Tech Friday.
The Huskies finished with a 42-18 edge in shots, but it was the Seawolves who got on the board first.
After two scoreless periods, Nick Wicks scored his fourth goal of the season short-handed and unassisted at 4:01 of the third period.
Penalties would once again haunt the Seawolves.
The Huskies would tie the game on their fifth power-play opportunity of the night.
Brian Halonen scored from the slot at 13:47 of the third period.
Halonen would follow-up with the game-winner at 15:13.
MTU finished 1-for-6 on the man-advantage. UAA, who was whistled for 27 penalty minutes, finished 0-for-2.
Kris Carlson's 40 saves were the most by a UAA goalie since Feb. 3, 2018.
UAA and MTU will close out the weekend series Saturday.
