GIRDWOOD, ALASKA – Liam Wallace of Alaska Anchorage finished second in the slalom to lead the Seawolves to a fourth place finish at the NCAA West Regional Championships Sunday.
The fourth place finish was the highest regional finish by the Seawolves since 2010 when they placed second.
Wallace posted the fourth-fastest time on run one (52.52) and the ninth-fastest second run (51.98) for a combined time of 1:44.50.
Tony Naciuk finish 11th (1:45.69), Michael Soetaert 18th (1:47.10) and Dominic Unterberger 27th (1:54.59).
Georgia Burgess led the UAA women with a 13th place (1:56.22) showing.
Alix Wells was 15th (1:57.32), Kristina Natalenko was 17th (1:57.69) and Li Djurestaal was 20th (2:01.10).
Simon Fournier of Denver won the men's race (1:44.12), and Jocelyn McCarthy of Montana State won the women's (1:51.06).
Alaska Anchorage will compete at the NCAA Skiing National Championships March 6-9 in Stowe, Vermont.
