Liessfeld jumps into record books

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – Vivien Liessfeld became the first woman at the University of Alaska Anchorage to long jump over six meters/20 feet when she won the long jump at the Pacific Coast Invitational with a leap of 6.16/20-2.5. The mark ranks second all-time in GNAC history.

Vivien Liessfeld ran 12.09 in the 100, third-best time all-time at UAA.

"She's been incredibly consistent this year, and as a coach you know that's a sign the big one is coming, and did she ever hit a big one," said associate head coach Ray Shadowens. "The 6.16m was amazing, but she actually jumped her four furthest jumps ever today. Couldn't be more proud of her to have this moment after years of hard work."
