MEET PREVIEW: The Seawolves will aim for their first-ever win over either opponent when they compete Friday night against Bowling Green and host Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., in their ninth of 10 regular-season meets this season ... 15th-ranked OSU comes in as the heavy favorite, with a 196.300 regional qualifying score and a season high of 197.450 ... there figures to be a strong battle between UAA, which comes in 57th nationally with a 192.395 RQS, and BGSU, which enters 55th at 193.025.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore Isabelle Fox earned a 38.650 all-around and UAA got excellent three-event efforts from junior Sophia Hyderally and sophomore Hope Nelson in a 194.925-192.675 loss at Utah State on Feb. 22 ... led by a 9.85 from Hyderally, the Seawolves finished strong in the final rotation, recording the third-best balance beam total in program history with 48.775 points ... UAA started with a 47.825 total on uneven bars, led by Nelson's 9.725 and a 9.625 from Hyderally ... freshman Ali Marvel earned a 9.725 to lead the way on vault and Fox had a 9.6 ... despite missing junior Mackenzie Miller in the floor lineup due to an injury, the Seawolves managed to score a 48.275 total in the third rotation, boosted by Hyderally's 9.8 and Fox's 9.725 ... coming off the 2nd-best beam score in program history with a 48.800 total on Feb. 9, the Seawolves nearly equaled that in the final rotation at USU ... Hyderally – the program record holder on the event – tied the 6th-best beam score for by a Seawolf, while senior Kaylin Mancari tied her career high with a 9.825 ... Nelson tallied a 9.75, Fox a 9.725 and freshman Rachel Decious produced a 9.625 to account for the team total.
SEAWOLVES END DAVIS DOMINANCE: In their final home meet of 2019, sophomore Isabelle Fox scored a 38.825 all-around and junior Sophia Hyderally continued her outstanding season with three 9.8-plus scores to lead the Seawolves to the No. 2 total in program history and a dual-meet upset of UC Davis, 194.100-193.875 at the Alaska Airlines Center on Feb. 9 ... UAA set the school record on uneven bars (49.075) and had the 2nd-best beam score (48.800) in program history, while erasing a 145.800-145.600 deficit after three rotations ... after Fox led the Seawolves with a 9.675 on vault, the Seawolves made a big move in the second rotation, getting career-best efforts from their top four performers and a career-high-tying 9.725 from Fox; Mackenzie Miller scored 9.875 for the 4th-best mark in program history, junior Kennedy Green scored 9.85 to tie the 5th-best mark, sophomore Hope Nelson's 9.825 tied for the 9th-best score, and Hyderally tied for 18th with a 9.8 ... UAA's 49.075 bars total was more than half a point higher than the previous home record (48.745 from 2013) and broke the 15-year-old school record of 48.825 from the 2004 MPSF Championships ... on beam, Hyderally earned a 9.9 for the second meet in a row, tying her own MPSF season high and the No. 2 mark in UAA history, behind her own 9.925 from her freshman season ... Fox scored a 9.8 and senior Kaylin Mancari – competing in her final home meet – earned a 9.75 on beam, while freshmen Rachel Decious and Ali Marvel each scored 9.675 ... the Seawolves took advantage of two Aggie falls on beam to pull ahead midway through the final rotation, led by Hyderally's 9.825 on floor ... Miller tied her personal best with a 9.775 on floor and Mancari earned a 9.725 as UAA earned its first dual win over UC Davis since 2004 and just its third in 46 all-time dual meetings against the Aggies ... Fox's all-around score came just shy of her career high and tied for the 21st-best mark in program history.
TEAM NOTES: The Seawolves enter Friday's meet with a 6-5 dual-meet record and rank third of six teams in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with a 192.395 RQS ... UAA is also 3rd in the MPSF in both beam RQS (48.280) and floor RQS (48.520) ... the Seawolves are on pace to set program records for beam average at 48.200 (48.103, 2016), floor average at 48.497 (48.431, 2016) and floor RQS at 48.520 (48.415, 2005), while their 192.022 total average ranks only behind the 2016 squad's 192.303 ... UAA's 194.100 score Feb. 9 was just shy of the school-record 194.125 performance in a Feb. 13, 2016 home win over Air Force ... the Seawolves produced season highs on bars in both their meets vs. UC Davis, including a school-record 49.075 mark Feb. 9 ... UAA has produced three of the top 20 scores in program history this year — 194.100 on Feb. 9 (2nd), 193.125 on Jan. 27 (7th), and 192.675 on Feb. 22 (17th) ... on floor, UAA has earned three of the top 12 marks in program history, including the 2nd-best at 48.975 on Jan. 25 ... the Seawolves have also earned three of the top 13 scores in program history on beam, with the 48.800 on Feb. 9 ranking No. 2 and the 48.775 at Utah State on Feb. 22 ranking No. 3.
GYMNAST NOTES: Jr. Sophia Hyderally ranks 2nd in the MPSF on beam with her 9.820 RQS and 4th on floor with a 9.815 RQS ... sporting a team-high seven individual victories this season, Hyderally is also on pace to break UAA's records for beam average at 9.762, floor average at 9.806 and beam RQS at 9.820, while her 9.815 floor RQS ranks 2nd; on bars, she ranks 6th all-time with a 9.650 average ... the MPSF Gymnast of the Week for her efforts Jan. 25 & 27 in California, Hyderally has eight career beam scores of 9.825 or better after delivering MPSF season-highs of 9.9 on Feb. 9 and Feb. 22; the Alabama native owns the UAA and MPSF record with her 9.925 beam routine at the 2017 MPSF Championships ... So. Isabelle Fox ranks third in the MPSF all-around standings with a 38.630 RQS, currently tied for the 5th-best mark in Seawolf history ... Fox picked up her 10th and 11th career individual victories with her all-around wins against Brown ... the reigning Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Freshman of the Year led the Seawolves with eight event victories in 2018, marking the most for a UAA freshman since M'rcy Matsunami had 10 in 2013 ... Fox's career-high 38.850 all-around Jan. 6 tied for 15th on the program's all-time list and second-best in the month of January; it was also UAA's highest all-around score since 2016 ... the Houston native paces UAA with a 9.650 averge on vault, scoring between 9.525 and 9.725 on all eight this season ... senior Kaylin Mancari has been delivering the best gymnastics of her career, scoring 9.5 or better on all seven of her beam routines and 9.575 or better on all seven of her floor exercises ... Mancari produced career highs on all three of her apparatus on UAA's California road trip, with a 9.625 on bars, a 9.825 on beam and a 9.85 on floor, and she matched her beam high again at Utah State ... on beam, Mancari is tied for the 3rd-best season average in program history at 9.675, while her 9.684 floor average ranks 14th on that list ... Jr. Mackenzie Miller picked up UAA's first honor of the 2019 campaign when she earned MPSF Specialist of the Week for Jan. 7-13 ... Miller produced four scores of 9.625-plus against Brown, leading UAA on bars (9.725) and floor (9.625) in Friday's victory; on Sunday, the Michigan native tied a career-high and 7th-best bars score in program history with 9.825, along with a 9.725 on floor ... Miller produced the 4th-best bars score in program history with her 9.875 in the win over UC Davis, along with a career-high-tying 9.775 on floor ... Miller has scored 9.625 or better on all seven of her floor routines, putting her on pace for the 9th-best average in program history at 9.707 ... junior Kennedy Green has been one of UAA's most consistent 3-event performers, including averages of 9.522 on vault and 9.425 on floor ... Green's 9.85 bars effort Feb. 9 tied the 5th-best score in program history and aided UAA's school-record 49.075 on the apparatus ... Green produced her career high on floor with a 9.7 at San Jose State on Jan. 25 ... sophomore Hope Nelson tied for the 9th-best bars routine in program history with her 9.825 against UCD on Feb. 9, and followed last week with her best meet of the season at Utah State (9.55 V, 9.725 UB, 9.75 BB) ... Nelson is aiding UAA's record season on beam with the team's 5th-best average at 9.510 ... after a tough start on floor, freshman Rachel Decious has found her form since Jan. 25, scoring 9.5 or better in the last four meets ... Decious contributed to UAA's historic Feb. 9 win over UCD with a 9.675 on her first collegiate beam routine, and she followed with a 9.625 at Utah State ... one of two Alaskans on the team, Wasilla freshman Ali Marvel has established herself as one of the team's most consistent vaulters, scoring at least 9.5 in all eight meets and ranking behind only Fox with a 9.609 average ... Marvel's 9.775 vault in the Jan. 11 win over Brown is still UAA's best this season.
