Hyderally, Fox land 1st Team All-MPSF honors

WOODLAND, Calif. – Four Alaska Anchorage gymnasts combined for seven awards Thursday as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced its 2019 All-MPSF Women's Gymnastics Team.

Junior Sophia Hyderally led the Seawolves with a pair first-team awards, thanks to her league-best 9.860 national qualifying score on balance beam and a 9.825 NQS on floor exercise. The Daphne, Alabama, native is on pace to break UAA's school records on both apparatus and could become the first Seawolf to lead the conference in NQS on any apparatus.

Meanwhile, sophomore Isabelle Fox picked up three awards, including first-team honors in the all-around with a 38.740 NQS. The Houston, Texas, native also made the second team on vault (9.685) and floor exercise (9.780).

UAA earned two second-team awards on uneven bars as well, with identical 9.720 NQS's from sophomore Hope Nelson and junior Mackenzie Miller.

The Seawolves conclude their 2019 team competition Saturday (5 p.m. ADT) at the MPSF Championships in Seattle.
